For those who aren't aware of the band, Into Eternity is a rare Regina success story -- they've toured the world many times over and are touring to this month and next to promote their latest disc Incurable Tragedy. They've been around since 1997 and remain one of the hardest working working bands in the world.
Anyway, they are in the beginnings of a tour of about 30 shows across the U.S. and Canada opening for the metal band Iced Earth. (They play Regina at the Exchange on Nov. 1.
It turns out that Roth, a man with rare musical ability who can play the guitar as good as any axeman out there, announced that he couldn't venture on the tour due to personal reasons. Tim emailed me over the weekend, and said he wouldn't be doing formal interviews, so I can't offer anything much more than what's been circulating here and there.
I can say that it appears Tim's issues will be resolved, and that he hopes to make his reasons for his dropping off the tour public when he's able to return. He fully expects to return, mind you, and he'll be in the lineup for the Nov. 1 show.
In the meantime, American musician Sean Maier, a fine guitarist himself, has taken on the difficult task of trying to fill Tim's shoes. Here's his myspace page, complete with some youtube video of him playing, or, as the kids say, "shredding."

For those who like heavy metal, then Incurable Tragedy comes very highly recommended by me.
