Even more Metallica

Sorry folks, but I have zero time today -- well, not zero, but you know how it goes. Anyway, the news I have for today is that I got my paws on Death Magnetic yesterday. My quick review is that it's really, really good. However, we expect that from Metallica. Anyway, I'll have an official review of it in Saturday's Leader-Post.

There are many people talking about the CD, which hits stores on Friday. One of my favourite Canadian music writers is Mike Devlin of the Victoria Times-Colonist. He calls it "remarkable. You can read his review here.....

Monday madness

Hello friends....

Well, I got off to a late start today -- lots of family in on the weekend, so things have been busy.

I am looking forward to SIR (Souls in Rhythm) at McNally's this weekend -- they play Friday and Saturday night. This Alberta band has some cool funky grooves. I doubt you will hear a lot about them, but they are worth checking out......here's their myspace page....

Some idiot on Sunday night thought it was a great idea to storm the stage during Oasis's show in Toronto. This moron, according to reports, actually hid under the stage before the show and after 45 minutes into the set, jumped on stage and plowed into Noel. The dude was escorted off and after a short break, the band returned to finish the show.

Naturally, someone has video of it, and posted it to youtube.....you can see a full account over on Chart Attack here...
