- Band of Brothers Benefit 2008 - focus is families of cancer patients, as Sask Health does not cover costs to families dealing with a loved one in hospital or in treatment. Costs such as travel, hotel, meals, childcare etc. rests upon the family. Unfortuately with lost wages and the costs of living this can be very difficult. The money that Band of Brothers generates from all fundraisers goes back to these families. The Riddell Center & Lazy Owl, U of R. Contact 306-525-1942. - Benefit organized by Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliary: "Emily Asiniwasis raises her 3 grandchildren, watches over her sick husband, and all on a teacher’s assistant salary. Her grandson, Nicholas, has recently been diagnosed with cancer and has lost his leg. Please join us at a Jam Session Benefit for Nicholas and his family at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall (1600 Halifax St) doors open at 4pm."
